SpaceX is Ready to Launch its Powerful Falcon Heavy on Tuesday
SpaceX has announced that more advanced and powerful rocket “The Falcon Heavy” will be launched on Tuesday 6th Feb 2018. The company issued a statement that The Falcon Heavy will be launched between 2:20 and 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time. SpaceX also said that it will cost 90 million U.S dollars per launch. Elon Musk said in a press statement that their ultimate objective is making humans an interplanetary species by establishing a colony on Mars. Falcon Heavy will be the most powerful rocket in operation, but it depends on its successful launch. Musk also involved its other company Tesla into the project and Tesla manufactured a car, cherry red “roadster”. It will be into an elliptical Earth-Mars orbit. Musk added in a press conference that 3 cameras have been installed in order to provide “epic views”.
The current phase of the mission is specifically dedicated to National Security missions. Its successful launch will show that the rocket is capable delivering a payload to GEO directly. The entire rocket launch mission will take more than 6 hours from launch to destination, at the Geosynchronous Earth Orbit. Its successful mission will open up the possibility of manned missions to the Moon or even Mars in the future. The GEO orbit follows the Earth’s rotation, so it keeps the satellite to stay at the same place. Musk mentioned this mission as an “Earth-Mars cycler”. The rocket will be at least 250 million miles (400 million kilometers) away from our planet after its successful mission. It can stay in the orbit for more than a billion years. Elon Musk is confident about the launch of Falcon Heavy, though there are a number of risks connected to the scheduled mission.
